I love most anything from Japan prior to the 70s and didn't know much about these. So cute! Apparently these are from around the Owari province which is known for their fine porcelain and stoneware. So much that the Japanese commonly speak of porcelain and pottery in general as "setomono", after the village Seto, slightly north of Nagoya. You might think of these like American chalkware from carnivals and festivals, but higher quality. I encourage you to learn more about them!

CONDITION: Excellent condition for over 60 years old. No major flaws such as cracks, breaks, chips, stains, or repairs. The one holding the festival mask has a rough spot on the left foot, but it looks like it's from the casting of the piece (SEE PHOTOS). Still fairly common.

IMPORTANT: I took photos so you know what you are getting. Please review before your purchase.
